I started the Makerspace at Arcosanti, which was a small fablab in the East Crescent. It had 3 3D printers, a large 130w Laser Cutter, plastic upcycling machines, 2 CNC's (semi-functional), and a soldering station. Most machines were DIY Kits I assembled or self-made.
The goal was to help empower the community to use many wasted resources at Arcosanti manifest entrepreneurial visions and improve the environment. For more, see my project on Iterative Machine building and LAMP.
