AnyShare was the first full FairShares Cooperative in the USA. This is a unique multi-stakeholder cooperative that shares profits and voting with all who are impacted by the business.
My teammate in Sharing Space Eric Doriean and I worked closely with Dr. Rory Ridley Duff and Cliff Southcomb for over a year to adapt FairShares for a tech startup in the USA. We explored many dimensions of cooperative memberships, profit sharing, operating principles, and power dynamics in the bylaws. In the end, we had 5 stakeholder groups in the cooperative (Founders, Investors, Employees, Customers, and Nature), with the organization built around including all groups the business impacts in the direction and benefits of that business. I called it the "complete cooperative" for that reason. You can read more on this here.
I'm indebted to my co-founder Eric Doriean, and FairShares co-founders Dr. Rory Ridley Duff and Cliff Southcomb for making this possible. It remains one of the professional accomplishments I'm most proud of.
